Heat Exchanger Expanders

Wilson Heat Exchanger Expanders are designed for today's modern fast methods of rolling condenser and heat exchanger tubes in thin or thick tube sheets. These self-feeding parallel rolling type expanders incorporate an improved adjustable ball bearing thrust collar. The thrust collars are designed for efficient, easy rolling and maximum roll length adjustment. Each expander provides a wide range of expansion and often permits the use of the same expander to roll more than one size or gauge of tubes. Their accurate construction assures constant and uniform parallel expansion.

In order to ensure proper selection of expanders the following information is needed.

A = Tube OD

B = Gauge

C = Tube Sheet

D = Tube Projection

E = Type of Material

F = Number of tubes to be Expanded

A = 1/4 (6.4mm) to 3/8-Inch (9.5mm) Tube OD

B = 18 (1.2mm) to 24 (.5mm) gauge

C = 41-A - 1/4 (6.4mm) to 1-Inch (25.4mm)
44-A - 1 (25.4mm) to 3 1/2-Inch (89.0mm)

A = 41-C - 1/2 (12.7mm) to 1 1/2-Inch (38.1mm) Tube OD
41-D - 1/2 (12.7mm) to 2 1/2-Inch (63.5mm) Tube OD

B = 10 (3.4mm) to 25 (.5mm) gauge

C = 41-C - 1/2 (12.7mm) to 1 1/2-Inch (38.1mm)
41-D - 1 1/4 (31.8mm) to 2 1/4-Inch (57.2mm)


Thrust Bearing Collar Thrust Bearing Collar assembly furnished on all Wilson Expanders up to 1-inch O.D. tube sizes except 72 & 73 series 20-23 ga. Supplied with a 1/16-inch recess. Recesses up to 15/16-inch available on special order.		Deep Recess Collar Available for 72 and 73 Series Expander. Allows rolling on far end where tubes project up to 3 inches. Order by basic "Thin Gage Collar" Assembly no. and required dash no. 7300 for 1", 7200 for 2", 7400 for 3".		Close Collar Optional Collar Assembly used for rolling tubes too close to shell sides, divider plates, etc. to allow the greater diameter of standard collars to pass. Collars available from flush to 15/160inch recess for all tube expanders offered.
