BOILER TUBE EXPANDERS

When boiler drums are 2-1⁄2 inches (63.5mm) or thicker, tube expansion must be performed in two or three operations (or steps), depending on the tube seat thickness. Our Series 65 Expanders are specifically designed for “deep reach” expanding.

Step 1: Use a Series 65 Expander to “deep roll” the tube so the area of expansion is 3/8 inches (9.6mm) beyond the inside edge of the drum.

Step 2: Use a Series 114 Expander to roll and flare the remaining half of the tube length within tube seat.
