In 1925, Thomas C. Wilson returned home after serving aboard the USS Leviathan. 1925

Thomas C. Wilson returns from service on the USS Leviathan and starts Thomas C Wilson company.

Television is invented, and Nellie Tayloe Ross is elected in Wyoming to become the first female governor in the United States.

1928

After three years of steady growth and success, TC Wilson incorporates under the name Wilson Petty.

Across the country, Mickey and Minnie Mouse make their first appearance in the animated short Plane Crazy, ushering in a few years of steady growth and success for Disney.

1940-1942

TC Wilson acquires Richard Didgeon Corp., expanding production capabilities in time to help the war effort in the United States.

Women also begin entering the workforce on the eve of America entering the war. From this date through 1945, women make up to 80% of the workforce at TC Wilson and companies nationwide, sustaining many industries during wartime and laying the foundation for a future of inclusion and resilience.

1945

The first TC Wilson tube cleaning catalog is created. TC Wilson also receives the Certificate of Achievement Award from the United States Navy to recognize “Thomas Wilson Men and Women” for our exceptional accomplishments on their behalf.

This same year, the United Nations is established on October 24 in San Francisco, California.

1950

Martha Wilson becomes the owner and chairperson of TC Wilson after her husband Thomas Wilson passes on. This marks the beginning of a decade of growth and diversification for the company.

On October 2, Peanuts by Charles Schulz made its debut, appearing in seven newspapers around the country.

1960

Jane Wilson Hanley, Martha's daughter, becomes chairperson of TC Wilson. Russ Bagnoli is appointed President of the company and Charles Hanley develops a very heavy-duty line of pneumatic tools (grinders, drills, and scaling tools), expanding TC Wilson product options for existing customers and opening new doors for the sales team.

The Flintstones, the first primetime animated series on network TV, appears on ABC.

1970

Charles E. Hanley becomes President of TC Wilson and Stephen Hanley, our current CEO, takes his first job with the company.

In music, the Beatles release the song ''Let It Be'' from their final album of the same name, which rises to number one and remains there for four weeks.

1977

Stephen Hanley, our current President, begins working at TC Wilson with 2-3 years of training. He spends approximately 3-6 months in each department in the company learning operations, accounting, and then sales, ensuring he understands the products as he moves into a sales role.

President Jimmy Carter signs the treaty turning the Panama Canal over to Panama.

Star Wars opens in theaters, setting the tone for the blockbuster era of filmmaking.

1982

Stephen Hanley joins U.S. Department of Commerce trade missions to Singapore, Indonesia, and Australia, paving the way for distribution to the area.

The first commercially available cellular telephone in the United States is created by Motorola.

The first laptop computer launches.

1990

Stephen Hanley conducts a trade mission to Europe, then later in the decade, a mission to Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia, setting the stage to expand distribution into those regions.

Further from home, the Hubble Space Telescope launches into orbit.

2000

Stephen Hanley becomes the Sales Manager for TC Wilson.

The population of the United States reaches 300 million.

2002

Charles Hanley retires and Stephen Hanley becomes President and CEO of TC Wilson, representing the third generation of family leadership.

The Winter Olympics are held in Salt Lake City, Utah for the first time. The United States wins 10 gold, 13 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

2012

Stephen Hanley purchases TC Wilson, embarking on a path of purposeful evolution and putting the company ahead of the curve of industry and technology changes.

Skydiver Felix Baumgartner becomes first person to break the sound barrier without a vehicle, jumping from a helium balloon at 128,000 feet and reaching 843 miles per hour.

2024

TC Wilson launches its new e-commerce website, giving customers the convenience of ordering products online.

NASA engineers successfully repair and recode Voyager 1 from 15 billion miles away, without having to call the help line.
